If only I could wake up knowing how that day was going to be, whether it was going to be for me or against me. Maybe it would have been much easier if I knew what the week had in store or even knew how the year would end; it would have greatly saved us from a lot of planning, motivational speeches, anxiety, and even overstated ambitions. Just simply understanding what was for you and what wasn’t meant to be.

A wise man once said, “Wishful thinking is poisonous”, or as we commonly hear the phrase, “If beggars were horses, wishes would ride on them.” Ha!

Let's try to look at a different perspective together. Isn’t life already planned? Isn’t everything that you were exposed to since childhood a factor of who you are now? And if we all have one life that happens to us simultaneously, what different version do we think could have transpired unaligned with our current situation? We seem to have this notion that we can rewind and recreate our past lives, sending us to a pit of regret and shame for who we are, but would you have the same rational if none of your negative experiences got to you? And if that’s the case and everything was smooth sailing, then you would be this naïve, ungrateful, arrogant, unteachable fool that lacks ambition and values to live by.

Challenges give us the blessings of faith, benevolence, wisdom, service, love, understanding, etc. The list goes on, I can tell you have a few more in mind that you learnt from your challenges.

The intro was to let you in on the things you have no control over, whereas there are those that you give control over unconsciously.

So Mirrors?! What do we have in common with mirrors? I believe that we are the same, but how?

"All things are subject to interpretation, and whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth." Friedrich Nietzsche

A mirror will never have its image but a reflection of what is presented forth, and that greatly aligns with our whole existence. So, how sure are you that that flashy lifestyle you yearn for was your idea in the first place, or that career path you crave with passion was yours to begin with, or a hoax your father fed you from his unaccomplished desire that also has roots to an uncle of his he greatly admired. This being the tip of the iceberg, imagine how much you can admit to live for and die for with conviction as your own.

Just surmise how much of your true self has been concealed within, with no chance of seeing light, or it just seems too alien for people around you in comparison to how they perceive you. I am a testament to this, for I am the last person you could say can write articles and even books one day. Many stand in awe as I tell them to read an article I wrote, and in some way, this fills me because I did not fall into the little cage they built for me in their minds.

Many a time, we are ruled by those closest to us rather than even those in power, for where love is, power resides in the highest concentration. This is why words from those who mean much to us have the greatest impact, and in the same effect, when betrayal comes from them, then it’s a scar for life. This whole façade of trying to rule your life is futile if you cannot rule out those that bring the worst out of you. Remember, you're just a mirror of your environment.

Where we almost lose is because the “Elites” understand all this and know how to play this game against us. Did you know there is a big market that is not widely known? That is Attention, which has enriched most of the big shots we know, i.e., Elon Musk with X, Mark Zuckerberg with Facebook, Cristiano Ronaldo with football, Beyoncé with Music, etc. Just ask yourself a simple question: What have I lost along the way as I get ‘smarter’, ‘empowered’, ‘connected’, and ‘entertained’, and the answer is authenticity. That is the currency you pay for overindulgence and uncontrolled exposure to the internet and trends.

They set up endless possibilities of how you can get trapped in their maze of dopamine checkpoints. It is almost as if you have no chance at getting away from all the snares that have been set up.

With all this brought to light then we get to understand that we have never had options to choose from, but only sacrifices made with every turn. Every day is a waking choice to do you or to do them (matrix), to chase a new possibility of you or the closest means of gratification. Our souls are just like sponges that absorb and have saturation points, meaning there are certain points where we first have to drain what we have, to fetch something fresh.

Seek Vitality, Abstain Torpidity.

"This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed, and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes."

WELCOME TO THE AWAKENING.

Subscribe now

Share SIR’s Substack

CAN WE DO IT ALL.

YES OR NO?

SIR LUMITI'S LIFESTYLE TIPS.

We often are part of the most subtle wars. Is it fair for us that we always want it all? We want to explore the ends of our reach and to what avail? In this frenzy, we find ourselves at a crossroad. Some are new paths that are rarely trodden while others are commonly walked on, which are safe or even not but at least we are familiar with them.

In other instances, we just want to be the nice guy, who butters up every face he or she meets. But is it really about being the nice guy or is it being selfish with everything we get our hands on? We just want it all; the companions, the fame, the opportunities, the praises, the love. But to maintain all of that we lose bits of ourselves in the process. Yet the billion-dollar question is, what is worth losing? Us or Them.

Should we from time to time offload what we can’t handle or just keep pushing until we break? Is all this baggage worth the trouble? Is there any benefit from it all? Don’t we mind our serenity? Don’t we mind our authenticity? Why not accept that sometimes we do overbear. Does it have to be this way?

We Live, We Laugh, We Love, We Die. It always boils down to these four. Amid the suffering we encounter, this is what we sieve out of it all. In our fake living we die even before our burial, cause if the life, the laugh, and the love are not authentic, then we jump to the last part of the sequel.

There is no life without death, so embracing this fact kicks your balls. What if I were to die tomorrow and vanish from the existence of those I loved? Would our last memory count? What is the one thing that I would do differently today?

Accepting that ultimately we will die, then there is where we shall start living. This is where we resolve to do everything right. We will love people right, ask to be loved right, laugh with the right people, and not put up an act to be likable.

Live, Laugh, Love, Die.

Subscribe now

Seven Pillars of Recreating Your Lifestyle.

This pillars will help anchor your new lifestyle and prevent relapse to your old one. Also, it will help you realize new ways to live a fulfilled life rather than a satisfied one. As we named them in our previous article, they are as follows: Purpose, Origin, Spirituality, Beliefs, Circle, Goals, Addictions.

We don’t realize how these 7 aspects play a key role in our lives and without fully comprehending they leave us vulnerable to manipulation, deceit, and confusion.

So here are 7 questions you need to answer to really understand Who you are, Where you are, and Where you are headed:

What is my purpose?

This begins with the concept of a creator. For example, if you were into robotics, then automatically, a robot of your own creation would have specific tasks to accomplish to be considered a successful creation.

Therefore, understanding that we were all created by a highly intellectual being means we have tasks to complete as the works of His creation. This sets a match to our purpose in this life. Putting into consideration that we are all very different from one another means that we all have differing purposes for us.

To lighten up the viscous nature of the word purpose, try to reflect upon your talents, like singing, dancing, drawing, writing, and so forth. Also reflect on your gifts, such as teaching, charity, administration, loyalty in serving, and many more. Now, upon reflecting on your gifts and talents, see how you can use them to inspire change or help people around you. For we are only a piece of a greater puzzle; don’t let your piece get lost.

Where is my origin?

This question is answered when you know where your roots and culture lie, i.e., who is your father, mother, and grandparents, whether dead or alive. Try to look into what they were like, be it from relatives or close friends. Also, know what your name means, after whom you are named?, and how they lived their lives. What cultures were your parents and grandparents from, and what were some of their cultural beliefs?

When you find this information, then you have somewhere to start in being conscious of yourself—where you shine most and your probable Achilles heel. This also helps you get inspiration on some of your generational gifts or talents.

Be it that all this information is not accessible, then remember that your biological parents are your second origin hierarchically and that your first origin is your creator, so what you’ll put emphasis on is what are some of the ways your creator would want you to live and what do you have an incline towards in fulfillment of your purpose?

Where does my spirituality lie?

What is not usually common knowledge to us is that 90% of our lives are reliant on our spiritual side. Determination stems from our spirit and not strength; the same is true for faith, peace, joy, and happiness; that is where the phrase “I am in high spirits today!” comes from.

So for spirituality, you need to have something that holds your spirit together, and it should be your touch base or anchor when everything around you does not make sense. As I provide this article to be a beacon of guidance, I only intend to share truth and not opinions, and so for spiritual guidance, I urge you to read the Bible. When I say read, I do not mean read with a conviction of your own, but with an open mind of personal understanding and not a group mentality of what you think you know. Seek guidance for more context on what riles you up.

What are my beliefs?

Our dogmas greatly affect our choices in life. So for you to recreate your life, you have to put all your belief systems to the test. When did you start believing in them? Is it personal to you, or was it taught to you by a superior, and why? Are they progressive for my growth or my biggest stumbling blocks? When they do pass your tests, it gives you reason to have more faith in them.

Who is part of my circle, and why?

We humans are social beings; we fully thrive in the company of others, for as the saying goes, “No man is an island." Our companions greatly determine our personalities and perspectives on life.

“Byrdes of on kynde and color flok and flye allwayes together.”

—William Turner, 1545.

In every relationship, value is a unit of sustenance, i.e., there must be an exchange of value for a relationship to be valid; otherwise, it is parasitism, where there is a host and a pest. Getting to know this principle lightens your burden of knowing which relationships are right for you by just understanding whether there is value being shared, and if yes, then is the value of positive impact or negative impact, if negative = meaningless relationship.

The right people lead you to the right places.

What are my life's goals?

Goals are what drive us to go that extra mile; they are where we channel our willpower, meaning that with no goals, we have the capacity but no direction, which leads to purposelessness. To have attainable goals, you need short-term goals that point in the direction of attaining your long-term goals.

All your collective goals should be S.M.A.R.T.

S: Specific- Make your goals specific and narrow for more effective planning.

M- Measurable- Make sure your goals and progress are measurable.

A- Achievable- Make sure you can reasonably accomplish your goal within a certain timeframe.

R- Relevant- Your goals should align with your values and your long-term goals.

T: Time-bound: Set a realistic but ambitious deadline to clarify task prioritization and increase motivation.

What are my addictions?

These are your regular indulgences that you ‘think’ you can’t live without, yet deep down, you know they are chipping bits off of you. This could be your biggest setback when it comes to embracing change—more or less your Achilles heel. Get rid of what you can live without, yet it's easier said than done. Remember, it is a matter of how bad you want it.

A guideline to quitting addictions;

First tip: The same time and energy you put into starting the behavior will also be required to end the behavior. For example, if it took you 2 years for smoking to become an addiction, then it will take you 2 years to quit it. To make the journey more streamlined, you need to replace the old habits with new healthy ones, such as daily exercise, a proper diet, a healthy sleeping routine, reading a book, learning a new skill, meditation, and many more. This shines a little light on what you are to expect, for it definitely won’t be an overnight success, so you have to brace yourself for the unknowns you’ll face in your journey.

Second tip: Try to add fasting to your routine, for it will help cleanse and reboot your system; it will strengthen your mental fortitude, focus, and discipline; and it comes with numerous other health benefits that tag along as well (we will talk more about fasting in later articles). This tip is not advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding mothers, adolescents, people with eating disorders, and those with diabetes or heart issues should visit their doctor for further advice.

The last tip: Get rid of triggers around you that will cause you to relapse and get you back into old patterns or habits that also include friends that you used to indulge in your addictions.

These are the seven pillars of recreating your life, and if taken into account, they will give you back control of your life as they are the foundation of tailoring a lifestyle to your own desires.

In our next article, we will try to walk through a list of lifestyle examples, see what they are built on, and get a feel for what category we may fall into. Chao fellas! Until you read again.

Thanks for reading SIR’s Substack! In our current times, binge drinking on Friday nights and skirt chasing are hobbies nowadays, while book warming and sleeping on Friday nights are for nerds ‘who don’t know how to have fun’.

Let's take a glimpse of our day-to-day lives. We have the biggest billboards advertising the different brands of luxurious liquor and the ‘healthiest’ cigarettes in town. We have our television stations advertising the best betting and gambling websites and how they have huge signup bonuses of up to 200%+, just to lure in the masses to try it out, and before they know it, it is so hooked up up their noses they can't pull it out. Another menace to our society is social media, which has done more harm than good. People nowadays are never content with what they have; there is always that new fashion they have to level up to, that billionaire status they have to achieve, and that new leaked porn video they’ll have to look up when they get home. There is always something sending them down a rabbit hole on social media. Have we never understood that these are just marketing strategies to crank up numbers at the expense of our livelihood?

The moral of the story is that nobody cares about you unless you care for yourself.

A tailored lifestyle, on the other hand, is similar to what we define as an ideal lifestyle. The secret behind your personal ideal lifestyle is that you have to want it so bad that “bad” is your SI unit (smallest unit of measurement) for "want." So how Bad do you Want it? A tailored lifestyle is the same idea as when you want to buy a suit and you go to have your measurements taken so that you can have a fitting suit for you. Only in this story your the tailor taking the measurements for a suit that suits you. Taking measurements is the idea of building everything from its foundation, which is knowing the following: your origin, purpose, spirituality, beliefs, goals, circle, and addictions. These are the seven pillars to recreating your life.

Here are five challenges one can face when recreating their lifestyle:

Mastering ones mind.

Your mind can be a formidable obstacle to becoming a better version of yourself. It can fill you up with all kinds of negative commentary when things are not going well and can have the power to derail you with fear and doubt—if you let it.

There is a part of our brain that feeds our mind known as the reptilian complex, otherwise known as the lizard brain. It is a primitive part of our brains that is responsible for basic survival instincts and emotions; it is in charge of fight, flight, feeding, fear, freezing up, and fornication. So basically, it is where our regular daily activities are stored and acted upon in autopilot mode to create more brain function capacity for other complex or focus-intensive activities.

In layman’s language, this part of our brain is disconnected from logic; hence, it's pretty dumb, and the so-called 'matrix’ takes advantage of this to feed you with all sorts of ads and pornographic content to shape your daily habits and make you docile and enslaved to the system created for you.

Sunk Cost Fallacy.

This is the tendency for people to continue an endeavor or course of action even when abandoning it would be more beneficial. A good example is when you finish a plate of food you don’t really want just because you have already paid for it.

It is the biggest deterrent for people facing a life-changing decision, for they usually go with the easiest way out of not changing due to the investment of time, energy, and resources into their daily habits and lifestyle trends.

Peer-Pressure.

Do not assume peer pressure is only for teenagers; it applies to all walks and ages in life, be it among CEOs, teenagers, or even the elderly. Your friends and associates play a huge role in who you are, how you speak, dress, and so on.

Peer pressure is a big factor in creating the self-concept and personality of individuals. Some of the disadvantages of negative peer pressure are a decrease in self-confidence, self-worth, and self-conviction. So you just have to choose your cup of tea.

“The fastest way to change yourself is to hang out with people who are already the way you want to be.”

-Reid Hoffman

Perfectionism.

It is often a hindrance because it can lead us to become overwhelmed with trying to make the “right” choice or find the perfect solution. There is never a perfect time or way to take action to make the right choices for personal development. It is associated with procrastination, fear of failure, and difficulty with decision-making.

Needless to say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Hence, just start small and build from there; never expect instant results; and also, be kind to yourself in pursuit of self-improvement because, trust me, you're in for a bumpy ride. I recommend you read a book called “The 1% Rule” by Tommy Baker, as he gives a few insights into the process.

Comparison.

It is an obstacle to growth that stifles your individuality and creativity, pushing you to conform to someone else’s standards. This will hinder you from discovering your true passions and talents.

Frequent social comparisons often lead to a negative self-perception, as we tend to focus on our own perceived shortcomings compared to others' achievements. We may feel inadequate, unaccomplished, or even develop feelings of inferiority, contributing to low self-esteem.

We should combat comparison in our lives with compliments towards ourselves and showing gratitude for the little things we have and the small achievements we’ve made. Is it not mediocre to think we can appreciate the big achievements we’ve made if we can't acknowledge the small ones?

In our next post we shall try to understand the seven pillars of recreating your life and what they entail.

Subscribe now

The WHY to this Newsletter.

Life is an interesting ordeal.

SIR LUMITI'S LIFESTYLE TIPS.

Life is an interesting ordeal. Why? Life is easy because all you have to do is exist, but the hard part is that you have to survive to exist. Which entirely complicates everything, begging the question “What are you willing to do to survive?” and this is what sets the path of humans apart; it is where good, evil, tough, soft, hardworking, lazy, success, failure, and such terms come from.

The biggest mistake humans make and will continue to make is getting engrossed in the surviving part of the story and forgetting existence; they forget peace and happiness; they forget dignity and respect; they forget how to love and care for; and they forget the main principles to which they were created. It is the most eccentric feeling to share and receive love, to have some peace and quiet up there, to be happy and content with what life presents, and to create a haven for you on this earth.

What if people could put in the same effort they put into surviving to exist? Wouldn’t the earth begin to heal? The concept of cell biology, where the singularity of one cell is the fundamental unit of life, also applies to the root cause of evil, which begins with one misguided thought in the survival process and spreads like a virus along individuals. This initiates a self-destruction protocol on earth, which explains where we are headed. A good example is the rise of Adolf Hitler back in 1921, when he ‘appointed’ himself the leader of the Nazi party. We all know how that story ended.

“The world will break your spirit, and it’s a norm for people to become like the same world that broke them, but when you soulfully choose to rise above it, that’s when the universe blesses you in abundance. Don’t match this lower vibration; always elevate.” -Boii McCoy

Let us rewrite this story and let this newsletter be that fundamental unit for sharing light where there is none. Let us elevate our lives’s vibrations to attract blessings and abundance and also share them with those around us.

In our next post, we shall try to delve into what lifestyle is and try to create a picture of what the ‘ideal lifestyle’ would look like. Now that we have understood that life is a balance between survival and existence, our next pick is lifestyle.

What is a lifestyle? Is it the life of one's choosing? In more detail, lifestyle is the constant decision-making process every day from dusk till dawn. It is a repetitive task that begins from the day you were born until the day you pass on. Presumably, as a toddler, your lifestyle and personality start to shape themselves through the decisions made and lessons taught to you by your parents or guardians, and by the time you take the wheel, some part of your lifestyle and personality is already shaped but not yet built.

From there, your lifestyle as ‘half an adult’ begins to shape up. We sometimes repeat certain choices in our lives so frequently that they start choosing themselves without even consulting us. Sounds weird, right? but there is no better way of putting it.

It is set in motion by the small choices you make, whether you wake up or snooze that alarm, or whether you prefer tea to coffee. Do you like your tea with one spoon of sugar, two, or even none? Do you plan your day in the morning, or will you just swing it all day long? That is where the ball of snow starts rolling. Let us try and picture it for a moment, shall we?. When a ball of snow from the top of a hill starts rolling down, it picks up more snow and gets bigger, but along the way it drops off chunks of snow, but still it gets bigger. So that is how our lifestyle embodies itself and reaches a point where it is so big that you cannot hide it anymore. A good figurative example is an obese person. We were all born with the same infant-sized bodies (considering the variation of body types; that’s a story for another day), but over time they stand out amongst the crowd.

Lifestyle and personality are mutually inclusive, so by definition, lifestyle is the creator of our personality and to whom we resort.

Now that we have that sorted out, let us try and create an abstraction of an ‘ideal lifestyle'. It all begins with the flaws you find in yourself. Do not accept being a victim to your frailties with phrases like “I was born this way!". Let your weaknesses fall off like chunks of snow as you continue to roll on and become big.

So to picture your ideal lifestyle, you have to create your ideal personality. As an example, do you want to be more confident? Then interact with more people and engage in public speaking. Do you want to be more stoic or conscientious? Then be more reflective of your actions and reactions. Do you want to be more courageous? Then join a competitive sport like boxing or rugby. Do you want to be more trustworthy and reliable? Then observe time punctuality and be more presentable in your attire. Do you want to be more kind and compassionate? Then join in on charitable events and community service programs. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy! There, you have your ideal lifestyle.

In our next post, we shall try to differentiate between a few types of lifestyles and the challenges of creating an ideal lifestyle.
